ND jobless rate nation's lowest at 2.7 percentBISMARCK — Job Service North Dakota says the state's unemployment rate dropped slightly in October and remains the lowest in the nation.
Job Service research analyst Michael Ziesch says North Dakota's unemployment rate was 2.7 percent in October, down from 2.8 percent in September.
The national unemployment rate was 7 percent in October.
Ziesch says North Dakota has more than 19,000 unfilled jobs.
Ziesch says the unemployment rate typically rises during the winter months when construction and other outdoor-related work slows due to North Dakota's cold weather.
