Wilmer resigns from Moorhead School Board
MOORHEAD – Trudy Wilmer resigned from her post as a School Board member here Monday night after accepting a job at Eide Bailly, the school district’s audit firm.
Wilmer said there are strict guidelines that govern the relationship between audit firms and their clients that prevent her from continuing her service on the board.
“I’m very sad,” Wilmer said Monday night. “I’ve enjoyed my time as a school board member. It was a very hard decision for me. It was a career choice that I couldn’t pass up.”
Wilmer was appointed to the board in September after longtime school board member Christine Thompson resigned to take a job within the school district.
In 2010, Wilmer was also appointed to the board after finishing second to Bryce Haugen in the election for a two-year seat.
The school board unanimously accepted Wilmer’s resignation Monday night and declared a vacancy on the board. Chairwoman Lisa Erickson said the board will consider how it will fill the vacancy at its next meeting, Dec. 9.
Board members are paid $800 per month.
