Two more lawsuits filed against Bridal Shop in FargoFARGO – The now-closed Bridal Shop here is once again the focus of a lawsuit, this time from the company’s former website design company.
Court documents filed Monday in Cass County District Court state that Fargo-based Absolute Marketing Group LLC is seeking $15,000 in damages from The Bridal Shop and its owner, Gretchen Ingbretson.
The small-claims lawsuit says Absolute Marketing Group performed graphic design, and website design, development, hosting and maintenance for the shop from Aug. 1 to Sept. 13.
Another small-claims lawsuit was filed Oct. 10 against The Bridal Shop, this one from a customer, Jessi VanDyke of Fargo.
VanDyke’s lawsuit alleges she paid $227.26 for a bridesmaid’s dress in April and never received it. The lawsuit says Ingbretson ordered the dress but never paid the manufacturer for it.
These most recent lawsuits bring to five the number of lawsuits facing Ingbretson and her store, which she closed abruptly in late August after 60 years in business.
Other bridal party members and brides have filed lawsuits against Ingbretson, also alleging they paid her for dresses that never arrived.
Ingbretson also faces an eviction lawsuit from her landlord at the 13th Avenue strip mall address.
Ingbretson previously told The Forum that a shift in the bridal gown industry toward more Internet-driven sales forced her out of business.
