Fargo officials investigate suspicious apartment fire

FARGO – Fire officials are investigating a suspicious fire at an apartment building here Friday morning.

Fire crews responded about 10:30 a.m. to the report of light smoke in an apartment building at 1204 3rd Ave S. in Fargo.

When crews arrived, the fire was already extinguished, but they could see light smoke outside of the building. They found the source of the smoke at the base of an apartment doorway, according to a release from the Fargo Fire Department.

The occupant of the apartment was not home at the time. There were no other injuries, the release stated.

There was light fire and smoke damage to one apartment and the hallway. No other apartments were damaged.

The cause of the fire – which appears to be suspicious in nature – is being investigated, the release said.
