Crews rescue man after he falls into a grain bin in Casselton

CASSELTON, N.D. – An ethanol plant employee was air lifted to a hospital after he fell from a 150-foot grain bin Friday afternoon.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office along with the Casselton and Leonard fire departments were dispatched to Tharaldson Ethanol in Casselton around 1:30 p.m., according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

An employee of Tharaldson reported a male co-worker was working on the grain bin and fell into it.

Rescue crews were able to get the man out of the bin and he was taken by Life Flight to a Fargo hospital to be treated for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries, the release said.

The man’s name has not yet been released.
