Women's final set at U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Curling at Scheels ArenaFARGO – The women’s final is set at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Curling at Scheels Arena.
Team Pottinger and Team Brown will play for a chance to represent the United States at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
The best-of-3 final starts at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday. Game 3 would be Sunday if necessary.
“We’ve been just waiting to get into this position,” said Erika Brown, who lives in Oakville, Ontario. “Yes, it’s nerve wracking, but this is why we play. This is exactly where we want to be. Nerves and all, bring it.”
Both Team Pottinger and Team Brown finished with 4-2 records in the double round-robin. Team George and Team Potter both had 2-4 records.
“It feels great,” said Allison Pottinger, who lives in Eden Prairie, Minn. “We tried to make it a two-step process this week. Now we’re in there, it’s kind of like reset and start all over so we are really excited.”
