ND Dems slate hearing on pipeline safetyBISMARCK — North Dakota Democratic lawmakers have slated a hearing this month to seek some answers on pipeline safety.
House Minority Leader Kenton Onstad of Parshall says the hearing was spurred by a Tesoro Corp. pipeline rupture discovered in September that sent more than 20,000 barrels of crude spewing across a North Dakota wheat field.
Onstad says the recent Tesoro pipeline spill near Tioga has raised "questions about the integrity and security of oil pipelines in western North Dakota."
Onstad's district is in one of the state's top oil-producing areas.
The hearing is slated for Nov. 20 in Stanley.
