Crash on icy road near Walker injures oneWALKER, Minn. – One person was seriously injured and two other sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a crash Friday night just outside Walker, Minn., according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.
According to the report:
About 9:30 p.m., Friday, Steven Merritt, 42, of Hackensack, Minn., was southbound on Highway 371 when he lost control of his vehicle on the icy road.
The vehicle slid into the path of a northbound vehicle driven by Kara Widman, 47, Walker, Minn.
Merritt was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Hospital with critical injuries.
Widman had no apparent injuries. Her two passengers, ages 15 and 16, were transported to Park Rapids with non-life threatening injuries.
Cass County (Minn.) Sheriff’s Office and Walker Police Department assisted Minnesota State Patrol at the scene.
