“We give a lot of credit to our offensive line, we just kept pounding it at them” said Rockets head coach Chuck Ross. “They finally wore them down in the second half.”
Thompson, who is leading Minnesota high school football in rushing this season, was the first to score Friday on a 24-yard run.
“He had 2,100 rushing yards going into tonight,” Ross said of his star running back.
Underwood’s Matt Biegler added 75 rushing yards and scored three touchdowns. Max Kohler added a pair of interceptions in the second half to hold Nicollet to just seven points after halftime.
