King, Hollins pace Gophers to win in Pitino debut

MINNEAPOLIS – Joey King scored 20 points and Andre Hollins added 18 to lead the Minnesota men’s basketball team over Lehigh 81-62 on Friday night, giving Richard Pitino his first victory as Gophers coach.

The win capped an otherwise disappointing day for the Gophers, who earlier in the afternoon were passed over by star in-state recruit Reid Travis for Stanford. About two hours later, the team announced a six-game suspension for forward Maurice Walker for violating an unspecified policy.
