1 killed, 1 injured in crash near GraftonGRAFTON, N.D. – One person was killed and another was injured in a head-on collision near here Thursday morning.
At 9 a.m. a vehicle that was southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 29 struck a northbound pickup in the same lane.
The collision caused the southbound vehicle to slide into the median, where it rolled several times before landing on its wheels.
The driver of the vehicle, Douglas Pessefall, 49, of Sherwood, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The northbound pickup slid across the lanes into a ditch.
The truck’s driver, Max Johnson, 23, of Walhalla, N.D., was transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks for minor injuries.
His truck was totaled.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
