WCCA hires Duenow as admin assistant

West Central Communities Action, Elbow Lake, Minn., has hired Amanda Duenow as an administrative assistant with the community services-services development, RSVP and free tax preparation programs.

Duenow lives in Ashby, Minn., and graduated from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Detroit Lakes, with an associate degree in accounting.

New executive director at The Stage, FMCT

The Stage at Island Park and the Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre have named Eloise Breikjern as executive director.

Breikjern was previously executive director at the Fargo Theatre and operations director at Trollwood Performing Arts. She began her career in nonprofit management with the Red River Boy Choir. Most recently, she worked at the WAMSO-Minnesota Orchestra Volunteer Association, Minneapolis.

During her time at the Fargo Theatre, she helped launch fundraising efforts for the theater’s $3 million restoration capital campaign and at Trollwood her focus was on staffing, volunteer management and developing the summer programs. She co-founded Trollwood’s student leadership program.

Three new employees at TMI Hospitality

TMI Hospitality, Fargo, has hired Thomas Loegering as manager of land acquisitions, Chris Fassler as telecom install technician and Heather Walker as a telecom billing analyst.

Loegering graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with bachelor’s degrees in communication and sociology, and received his juris doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He was previously employed as a senior tax accountant at Omni Financial, Broomfield, Colo.

Fassler received ASE certification from the North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, and a master technician customer premise certification from Jones/NCTI. He previously worked as a senior technician at Cable One, Fargo.

Walker graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management. She previously was reservations manager for the Radisson Hotel, assistant general manager for the Fairfield Inn and Suites and most recently was general manager of the Econolodge, all in Fargo.

Enventis hires Olson, Turchin

Enventis in Fargo has hired Matt Olson as sales support coordinator and Terry Turchin as customer account manager.

Olson graduated from Mayville (N.D.) State University and was previously a customer service manager for U.S. Bank.

Turchin graduated from North Dakota State University and has more than 12 years of telecom experience.

David M. Wolf promoted to lieutenant with NDHP

David M. Wolf of the North Dakota Highway Patrol has been promoted to lieutenant and assigned to serve as regional commander in Grand Forks.

Wolf began his career with the Highway Patrol in 1997 and was stationed as a trooper in Hettinger and Fargo. He was promoted to sergeant in 2007 and served in Fargo until his current promotion and reassignment.

He graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Border States names senior IT app manager

Border States Electric, Fargo, has named Adam Guderian senior information technology applications manager. Guderian has more than 10 years of IT experience, most recently with Doosan as the supply chain systems manager.

Guderian has master’s degrees in business administration and industrial and system engineering. He has been involved in both SAP and Oracle implementations, lead supply chain systems initiatives, and held a number of leadership roles.

Sales manager named at Halvorson Co., Fargo

Matt Halvorson has been named sales manager at the Halvorson Co., Fargo.

A graduate of the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, Halvorson began his insurance career in 2009.

Bercier promoted at BCBS North Dakota

Carman Bercier has been promoted to vice president of health innovation and practice transformation at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, Fargo.

She joined BCBSND in 1990 and has held several positions, most recently manager of BlueCard operations and claims review.

Bercier received an associate degree from Bismarck State College and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

KLJ hires 2 engineers in Fargo office

KLJ, an engineering, surveying and planning firm, has hired Michael Carlson and Matt Tesch as engineers in the power group. Both will work in the firm’s Fargo office.

Carlson earned a bachelor’s degree from North Dakota State University and has more than nine years of transmission distribution experience.

Tesch received a bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University, Brookings, and has more than five years of experience in power delivery design.

Tom Stefaniak joins pulse breeding program

Tom Stefaniak has joined North Dakota State University’s North Central Research Extension Center near Minot as assistant pulse crop breeder.

He works in conjunction with Kevin McPhee, pulse crop breeder in the NDSU Plant Sciences Department in Fargo, on the development of dry pea, chickpea and lentil varieties that will do well in North Dakota growing conditions.

Stefaniak is a native of Lexington, Ky., and earned a bachelor’s degree in humanities from Michigan State University, and a master’s degree in plant and soil science and a doctorate in crop breeding from the University of Kentucky.

Before joining NDSU, he was a research associate at the University of South Carolina and a postdoctoral scholar at Texas A&M.

Former Judge Borgen joins Vogel Law Firm

Former Clay County District Court Judge Lisa Borgen has joined the Vogel Law Firm’s Moorhead office.

She will practice in the areas of criminal defense, family/domestic law, general litigation and mediation.

Borgen was appointed district court judge in 2006 by Gov. Tim Pawlenty. She was the elected Clay County attorney for two terms before being appointed a judge and prior to being a prosecutor, she was a criminal defense attorney in Moorhead and held a part-time contract with the state public defenders.

Borgen graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. She earned a law degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law, Grand Forks.

Before her legal career, Borgen received a licensed practical nursing degree and was a practicing LPN for several years.

RLE Group hires Keegan as CAD/BIM technician

The RLE Group, an architecture, forensics, interior design and marketing firm in Fargo, has hired Cory Keegan as a CAD/BIM technician.

Keegan graduated from Northland Community and Technical College, East Grand Forks, Minn., with a degree in architectural technology and design.

NetWork Center adds app developer to staff

The NetWork Center, Inc., Fargo, has added Alex Samanta to its staff as an application developer.

Samanta graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He has seven years of professional experience.

New curator appointed at Plains Art Museum

The Plains Art Museum in Fargo has appointed Becky Dunham as curator.

She was the assistant curator for five years at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, working in the departments for prints and drawings, and for modern and contemporary art. She has also worked at the Museum of Art and Archaeology, Columbia, Mo., and interned at the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art, Gainesville, Fla.

She pursued Ph.D. studies at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Dunham earned a master’s degree in art history from the University of Florida, Gainesville, and a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She was also an adjunct professor of art at Houston Community College and taught courses at the University of Missouri and the University of Florida.

There will be a “Meet the Curator” reception in mid-January.

SK Food International adds Tracy Dux to staff

SK Food International, Fargo, has added Tracy Dux to its staff as an inventory accounting specialist.

Dux has extensive accounting and administrative experience.

Starion Financial hires Monson, promotes Lee

Nate Monson has joined Starion Financial as a mortgage banking officer and Doug Lee has been promoted to mortgage banking officer, both at the bank’s Urban Plains location at 2754 S. Brandt Drive, Fargo.

Monson has more than 26 years of mortgage and banking experience. He earned a degree in finance from Minnesota State University Moorhead and banking and financial management degrees from the University of Minnesota, Crookston.

Lee has more than eight years of mortgage underwriting and credit experience.

ByteSpeed hires two new employees

ByteSpeed in Moorhead has hired Mark Richardson as a computer builder and Paul Ide as a sales account manager.

Richardson started working part time at ByteSpeed in 2011. Ide has a variety of background experience, including 12 years of entrepreneur sales experience.

Eight new providers at Sanford Health Fargo

Eight new providers have joined Sanford Health in Fargo.

They are: Dr. Nathan Hall, interventional cardiology, Sanford Heart; Nurse Practitioner Julie Loiland, neonatal perinatal medicine, and Dr. Kara Johnson, critical care and pulmonology, both at Sanford Medical Center; Dr. Jay MacGregor, colorectal surgery, Nurse Practitioner Michelle Cooley, maternal fetal medicine, OB/GYN, and Nurse Practitioner Alexis Rossland, gastroenterology, all at Sanford Broadway Clinic; Dr. Ravinda Samaraweera, neurology, Sanford Neuroscience Clinic; and Nurse Practitioner Alissa Hoban, internal medicine, Sanford Southpointe Clinic.

Hall graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, Grand Forks, and completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Utah Schools of Medicine, Salt Lake City, where he also completed fellowship training in cardiology. Hall completed fellowship training in interventional cardiology at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Minneapolis.

Loiland graduated from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

Johnson graduated from the UND School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at Abbott Northwestern, Minneapolis, and fellowship training in pulmonology and critical care at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

MacGregor graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, and completed his residency in general surgery at the UND School of Medicine. He completed his fellowship training in colorectal surgery at Orlando (Fla.) Regional Health Care.

Cooley graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Lincoln, and Rossland graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha.

Samaraweera graduated from the UND School of Medicine and completed his residency in neurology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he also received his fellowship training in epilepsy.

Hoban graduated from UND.

Cass County Electric hires 2, promotes 4

Cass County Electric Cooperative has hired Craig Shol as power control technician and Stephanie Villella as communications coordinator.

Phillip Lamb has accepted the position of full-time lineworker out of the Valley City, N.D., service center, Chad Brousseau has moved to manager of energy management, Phil Windjue was promoted to design and construction supervisor and Kelsey Gorder was promoted to line crew foreman in the Fargo service center.

Shol graduated from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead, with a degree in construction electricity. He previously worked for Moorhead Electric.

Villella is a graduate of Concordia College with a degree in communication and writing. She previously worked for Ulteig.

Lamb previously worked for CCEC as a seasonal lineworker, Brousseau was previously a power control technician, Windjue was previously employed as a line crew foreman and Gorder has been employed as a CCEC lineworker since 1997.

Jason Davis named GM of Cambria Suites

Jason Davis has joined KAJ Hospitality as general manager of the company’s Cambria Suites and Conference Center at 825 East Beaton Drive, West Fargo. The facility is scheduled to open in the spring.

Davis is a graduate of North Dakota State University with a degree in hospitality and tourism management. He was previously director of sales at the Courtyard by Marriot in Moorhead and also spent 13 years with TMI Hospital in Fargo.

Cambria Suites will be KAJ Hospitality’s second hotel in the Fargo area, joining Hampton Inn and Suites, 4776 Agassiz Crossing South, Fargo. The new four-story hotel will feature 103 suites, 7,500 square feet of event space, and an on-site restaurant and lounge.

FirstLink names volunteer specialist

Andrea Stordahl has been named the volunteer center specialist at FirstLink, Fargo.

Stordahl spent many years as a stay-at-home mom to four children who are now adults. During this time she volunteered in her children’s schools and activities, in her church and in the community.

Originally from Moorhead, she attended Concordia College and North Dakota State University.

FM CVB hires Loritz as account manager

Lara Loritz has joined the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau as an account manager. She will work with western North Dakota groups, associations and corporations.

Loritz attended North Dakota State University and has more than 10 years of hospitality experience. She was previously a hotel general manager in Bismarck and a hotel director of sales in Fargo.

AgCountry Farm Credit adds two tax specialists

Jim Conway and Jason Grunewald have joined AgCountry Farm Credit Services. Conway is a senior tax specialist who will provide tax preparation and consultation to customers in the Fargo and Valley City, N.D., areas, and Grunewald is a tax specialist in the Wahpeton, N.D., office.

Conway has more than 30 years of experience in the tax preparation field and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in taxation from DePaul University, Chicago. He is a certified public accountant.

Grunewald previously worked at Carlson Highland & Co., Fergus Falls, Minn., as an auditor and tax preparer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Minnesota State University Moorhead, and he is also a CPA.

McMillan named HR manager at Fraser Ltd.

Jacqueline McMillan has accepted the position of human resources manager with Fraser Ltd., Fargo

McMillan received a master’s degree in human resources and employment relations from Penn State and a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the State University of New York at Saratoga Springs.

She has 20 years of experience in the human resources field.

Boggs-Johnson hired as digital marketer

Onsharp, Fargo, has named Abby Boggs-Johnson as digital marketing strategist.

Boggs-Johnson interned at Onsharp while attending Concordia College, where she graduated with degrees in public relations and Spanish.

She was previously the communications coordinator for Concordia College and the YWCA.

Corporate Technologies hires Beske, Sobocinski

Corporate Technologies, Fargo, has hired Jim Beske as a systems engineer and Matt Sobocinski as a service sales executive.

Beske has an associate’s degree in computer programming and has 15 years of system engineering experience, most recently employed at Eide Bailly, Fargo, as a network administrator.

Sobocinski was previously employed at Lavelle Company, Teamsters Club and CCRI in Fargo. He has seven years of experience in customer service.
