Ostlie lifts Moorhead to consolation victory

ST. PAUL – Olivia Ostlie has 20 kills to lift Moorhead to a 3-1 over Roseville in Friday’s consolation round of the Minnesota Class 3A state volleyball tournament at the Xcel Center.

Moorhead (19-12) will play Rochester Mayo (25-5) in today’s 9 a.m. fifth-place game.

Ostlie, a senior outside hitter, had a hitting percentage of .410 as the Spuds won 25-18, 25-17, 10-25, 25-21. Fellow senior Amber Gunkel had 39 assists while Bailee Gulseth had 23 digs.

MOORHEAD (kills-blocks-aces): Lund 0-0-0, Gunkel 0-4-0 (39 assists), Uglem 8-5-2, Carney 2-3-0, Ostlie 20-2-0 (8 digs), LaFlamme 9-9-0, Borgen 0-0-0, Swanson 0-0-0, Tollefson 5-1-2, Gulseth 0-0-2 (23 digs).
