North Dakota Highway patrol seeks info about Sunday hit-and-runBISMARCK – The North Dakota Highway Patrol is looking for information about a driver who hit a man on a scooter here Sunday morning and fled the scene.
John Wanecke, 62, was riding his scooter on Highway 1804 near the Bismarck Municipal Airport at about 6:10 p.m. Sunday when he was struck from behind by a vehicle, according to a highway patrol release. Wanecke was just north of Airway Avenue at the time of the accident.
Wanecke, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from his scooter and sustained several injuries, according to the release. The hit-and-run driver did not stop at the scene.
