Two people in critical condition after beet truck accident near Felton

FELTON, Minn. – A crash near here involving a truck hauling sugar beets has left two people in critical condition.

The accident happened just after 8 a.m. on Friday when the beet truck and a pickup collided at an intersection about five miles southwest of Felton.

Both vehicles rolled and ended up in the ditch.

The driver and a passenger in the pickup were injured. A Sanford Health Life Flight helicopter brought one person to the hospital while ground ambulance transported the other.

The driver of the beet truck was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

β€œIt’s just a warning that there are a lot of trucks on the road, and do whatever you can to give them some space,” Bill Bergquist- Clay County Sheriff told WDAY-TV.

The identities of those involved have not yet been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
