Letter: Why no story on ‘Picture Show’?On Friday, Oct. 18, the Fargo Theatre presented a double screening of the cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” and I’m truly disappointed at the lack of media coverage from our local news sources.
This was a wonderful event, which attracted a diverse gaggle of people, which, despite occasional alternative appearances, was a very welcoming and friendly crowd that included much love and jubilation.
An event such as this is a great snapshot of just how fun life with like-minded individuals ought to be. North Dakota is changing. Fargo is growing. If our community and state wish to maintain this newfound growth, we must encourage and welcome alternative ideas and walks of life.
Maybe next year we can expect to see some greater positive coverage regarding alternative events that don’t revolve around sports, construction, the weather or violence. Let your freak flag fly.
