Trade Talk: Golf simulation business takes swing at Fargo

FARGO - A company out of Sioux Falls, S.D., called Golf Addiction is embarking on a project to construct a building at 4474 23rd Ave. S. in Fargo.

The business, which will house golf simulators, hopes to open by early December, said Mike Rufer, one of the owners.

Besides golf simulators, Golf Addiction will be home to a bar and restaurant offering a limited food menu, Rufer said.

The business will also offer pool tables and dart boards and it will periodically host tournaments, he said.

Golf Addiction will be managed by Chris Sayre.

Joint project

A new building going up at 3033 Brandt Drive in Fargo is expected to be completed and ready for occupancy in early 2014, said Shawn Rehm, who operates a Horace Mann Insurance office at 4610 Amber Valley Parkway.

Rehm said when the new building is complete he will move his insurance office to the Brandt Drive location.

At the same time, he said, a Sylvan Learning Center that occupies space near his current insurance office on Amber Valley Parkway will also move its operation to the Brandt Drive building.

The Sylvan Learning Center is owned by Kari and Ryan Weigel, who also operate a Sylvan Learning Center in Bismarck, Rehm said.

Office space

A new office building will soon be taking shape at 4143 26th Ave. S., in Fargo.

The Crown Pointe office complex, which will offer leasable office space, is expected to be ready for tenants by summer 2014, said Kevin Bartram, the architect handling the project.

Matrix Properties, of Fargo, will own the building.

On the horizon

According to building permit information filed with the city of Fargo, several other projects are in the works as well, including a Dakota Smiles Dental Clinic at 3170 44th St. S. and a Maple View Memory Care facility planned for 4552 26th Ave. S.

According to information on the city’s Website, the space being built for the dental clinic will also include commercial lease space.

No other details about those projects were available.
