Insurer: Fargo among most secure citiesGRAND FORKS – Fargo, Grand Forks and Bismarck were among the 10 most secure cities in their category, according to a study of hundreds of communities by Farmers Insurance.
The study measured criteria including crime statistics, life expectancy, fatal car accidents, housing depreciation, foreclosures and economic stability, the insurance company said. Among metro areas with populations less than 150,000, Grand Forks ranked ninth and Bismarck ranked third. Ahead of Bismarck are Corvallis, Ore., ranked first, and Midland, Texas, ranked second.
Fargo, among metro areas with populations between 150,000 and 500,000, ranked sixth. The top three are Holland-Grand Haven, Mich.; Green Bay, Wis.; and Appleton, Wis.
