Neighbors: ‘The Voice’ brings back memories
Feedback: Wendy’s nephew, Roger Nelson, of Fairmount, N.D., writes that his uncle lived with Roger’s family in Lisbon for a time after Wendy got out of the Army in the early 1950s and for a time after he and Phyllis were married.
Wendy, along with Roger’s father, Clifford, worked for Gilbert Implement in Lisbon before Wendy and Phyllis moved to Seattle.
“I was casually watching ‘The Voice’ auditions show,” Roger writes, “when Mycle first appeared. I perked up a bit when they mentioned a ‘Wastman’ from Seattle and then showed a picture of him and his grandpa, (who was) my Uncle Wendy from whom I received my middle name.
“Small world,” Roger notes.
By the way, Wendy and Phyllis had three children when they moved to Seattle from Lisbon, and had three more later, so they must have had an active household.
