Man dies in Minn. crane accident

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. — A man has died after the crane he was operating tipped on its side at a Maplewood construction site.

The accident happened around noon Monday at the St. Paul Hmong Alliance Church.

Police provided medical care to the crane's operator, 34-year-old Cory Lewellin of Ogilvie, as they worked to free him from the cab. KARE-TV (http://kare11.tv/1b8s6Nj) reports Lewellin was taken to Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities would not speculate on the cause of the accident. Minnesota OSHA is investigating.
