Minnesota-Crookston edges Dragons in NSIC football

CROOKSTON, Minn. – Minnesota-Crookston’s Talo Pascal caught a 12-yard touchdown pass with 31 seconds left in the third quarter, which proved to be what the Golden Eagles needed in a win over Minnesota State Moorhead on Saturday.

Crookston edged the Dragons 20-14 during a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference football game at Ed Widseth Field.

Pascal’s touchdown completed a five-play, 94-yard scoring drive for the Golden Eagles (2-5, 2-5 NSIC).

MSUM (1-6, 1-6) never led during the game.

Sophomore wide receiver Myles Montplaisir scored both of MSUM’s touchdowns. Montplaisir finished with 21 yards rushing on nine carries.

MSUM sophomore running back Zayne Medhaug rushed for a team-high 135 yards.

Pascal finished with 132 yards rushing on 33 carries including a 12-yard touchdown run in the first quarter for the Golden Eagles.

Kyle Larson led Crookston’s passing attack, going 17 of 29 for 264 yards.
