Letter: Thanks to many helpful caregiversMy letter is to thank so many people during my husband’s hospitalizations. Two days after Labor Day, our family doctor had my husband, Mark, admitted to Sanford Medical Center. His X-ray showed a large mass in the center of his chest between his lungs.
After a CT scan, an MRI and a biopsy, it was determined he had non-small stage 2 lung cancer. He was in the hospital for six days. We were sent home to wait for his treatment schedule.
He came back to Sanford for some tests and was admitted again with a blood clot in his arm and rapid heart rate. This led to his doctors starting radiation and chemotherapy immediately. He is now going to Roger Maris for 24 more radiation treatments and two more rounds of chemotherapy.
Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, nurses’ aides, housekeepers, food service and the Roger Maris Cancer Center. There are too many to name, but you know we are so grateful to you all. We are taking one day at a time and thank God for our lives.
Bless you all.
