Hires and promotions - 10/19/13Discovery Benefits hires five employees in Fargo
Discovery Benefits in Fargo has hired Brandon Clark as a COBRA/ billing solutions senior account manager, Danielle Feland as a COBRA/ billing solutions renewal specialist, Stacy Purdy as COBRA/ billing solutions operations specialist, Elma Omerhodzic as COBRA/billing solutions carrier relations specialist and Jennifer Gill as a file analyst.
Laver added to Prairie St. John’s therapy team
Prairie St. John’s, Fargo, has added Nils-Erik Juanto Laver to its therapy team.
Laver is working on the inpatient units of the hospital and in the Fargo clinic. In addition to psychological evaluations, he provides individual and group therapy.
His special clinical interests include assessment and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, depression, psychological testing and couples therapy.
Laver is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology.
BlackRidgeBANK promotes 1, hires 2
BlackRidgeBANK, Fargo, has promoted Savannah Heiser to universal banker, and the bank has hired Diana Chase as a consumer loan officer and Darcy Morris as a universal banker.
Heiser works at the Woodhaven location in south Fargo, and she graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a marketing degree.
Chase has 22 years of banking experience and most recently worked as a customer service manager with Bank of the West. She will work in the new West Fargo location.
Morris previously worked at First State Bank, Thompson, N.D., and she has experience in customer service, loan processing and teller operations. She is working in the bank’s new West Fargo location.
Reyerson joins Fargo realty team
SuLin Reyerson has joined Green Team Realty in Fargo. She is a full-time Realtor licensed in North Dakota and Minnesota.
Reyerson was previously employed for 13 years as a sales representative for CableOne Advertising. She is originally from Williston, N.D., and moved to Fargo in 1991.
Barr joins team at Fargo Housing
The Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority has hired Wanda Barr for full-time custodian/ maintenance at New Horizons Manor and Pioneer Manor.
Barr most recently worked for Trollwood Village Apartments, Fargo, and has extensive experience with cleaning and detailing rental properties.
Dixon joins Nilles firm as associate attorney
Patrick Dixon has joined the Nilles Law Firm in Fargo as an associate attorney.
Dixon was born and raised in Fargo, and he graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, and Kansas State University prior to receiving his juris doctor from the UND School of Law.
His practice emphasis is in business, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning and real estate.
KLJ hires Freitas, Olsen in firm’s Fargo office
KLJ, an engineering, surveying and planning firm, has hired Jason Freitas and Marilyn Olsen in its Fargo office.
Freitas is an engineer with the transportation group. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Arizona. He has more than two years of experience in the transportation industry.
Olsen is an executive assistant with the right-of-way group. She earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees in textile science from North Dakota State University. She has more than 20 years of administrative experience.
S&S Promotional Group hires Lucy, Dafoe
S&S Promotional Group, Fargo, has hired Gary Lucy and Richard Dafoe as sales representatives.
Lucy will be working out of Minot, N.D. He received a bachelor’s degree in information systems management from Minot State University and worked in information technology for 14 years. He also spent time as a surgical technician on trauma, neurology, orthopedic and open heart teams.
Dafoe will be working in the Grand Forks area. He attended Minnesota State University Mankato, and spent time traveling in Canada, Nepal and India before earning a bachelor’s degree in English with an education certificate from the University of Iowa. He taught and coached in the Grand Forks Public School District and continues to coach cross-country and track at Red River High School, Grand Forks, and also helps direct the Grand Forks Wild Hog Half Marathon.
Ramada names Pfeifer sales director
Karla Pfeifer has been hired as director of sales at the Ramada Plaza and Suites, Fargo.
She began her hospitality industry career in Aberdeen, S.D., while attending Northern State University. She served as executive director of the Jamestown (N.D.) Convention and Visitors Bureau before joining the Fargo Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau.
She spent 16 years with Regency Hotel Management, Sioux Falls, S.D., as the director of sales and marketing for the Best Western Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center and ClubHouse Hotel and Suites.
Applied Engineering hires design engineer
Michael Nies has joined Applied Engineering as a design engineer. He will provide engineering services in the Fargo area.
Nies graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
ND Commerce hires Fisher in accounting
The North Dakota Department of Commerce has hired Ashley Fisher as an accounting/assistant credit analyst for the North Dakota Development Fund.
A native of Mandan, N.D., Fisher previously worked at Cornerstone Bank where she was a mortgage loan processor. She is a graduate of Dickinson (N.D.) State University and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management.
Principal Financial names regional director
David B. Starr has joined the Principal Financial Group Dakotas Business Center as regional managing director where he will develop and grow the South Dakota and North Dakota agencies as well as manage the day-to-day operations.
Starr has more than 19 years of experience working in the insurance and financial services industry, most recently as regional managing director at Principal’s St. Louis agency.
The Dakotas Business Center has offices in Sioux Falls, S.D., and at 4575 23rd Ave. S., Fargo, as well as several detached offices in North Dakota, South Dakota and southern Minnesota.
Spearman hired as case aide at The Village
The Village Business Institute, Fargo, a division of The Village Family Service Center, has hired Nicole Spearman as a case aide in the Employee Assistance Program.
She has studied in the medical field for the past five years.
Catholic Charities adds Buckmeier to staff
Tracy Buckmeier has been hired as a guardianship worker in the Fargo office of Catholic Charities North Dakota. She will work with adults with developmental disabilities in Fargo and Jamestown, N.D.
Buckmeier earned a bachelor’s degree in child development and family science from North Dakota State University. She previously worked as a developmental disabilities program manager at Lake Region Human Service Center and was a program coordinator at Community Options.
Four new hires at Bell State Bank
Bell State Bank & Trust has hired Carrie Carney as a marketing and communications writer and Steve Ernst as lead software engineer, both at the 3100 13th Ave. S., Fargo, location. Sarah Crompton has been hired as a personal banking officer at the branch in Hawley, Minn., and Missy Hexum was hired as an associate financial adviser with Bell Investments at the bank in Fergus Falls, Minn.
Originally from Park Rapids, Minn., Carney earned a bachelor’s degree in English and mass communications from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Crompton is a native of Grand Rapids, Minn., and earned an associate degree from Hibbing (Minn.) Community College. She has worked in the banking field for about 13 years.
Originally from Ipswich, S.D., Ernst attended the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where he studied computer science and electrical engineering, and he studied business at Northern State University, Aberdeen, S.D. He was employed at Microsoft for the previous 12 years as a senior software development engineer working on mid-market accounting software.
Hexum is originally from Pelican Rapids, Minn., and she has worked in the banking field for 13 years, most recently at American Federal in Fergus Falls.
Cass County Sheriff’s office promotes two
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office in Fargo has promoted Jade Van Den Einde to the rank of corporal and Deputy Tonya Grabinger was promoted to a patrol deputy in the field services division
Van Den Einde will be assigned to the field services division. He worked as a Cass County Sheriff’s Reserve member from 2004 to 2005 and at the Cass County Jail from 2005 to 2008. He became a patrol deputy in 2008 and was assigned to truck regulatory in 2010. He became a field training officer in 2011.
Grabinger began employment with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office in 2013 as a court transport deputy. She was employed as a police officer with the Mandan (N.D.) Police Department from 2007 to 2012, where she was a patrol officer and school resource officer.
Dacotah Paper hires advertising specialist
Dacotah Paper Co., Fargo, has hired Stephanie Strum as an advertising and marketing specialist.
She previously worked for Polaris Industries as a marketing associate
TMI Hospitality names purchasing agent
Danielle Fraase has joined TMI Hospitality in Fargo as a purchasing agent.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in apparel textiles and a minor in business administration from North Dakota State University.
Previously, she was an assistant buyer for Vanity in Fargo and a department manager for a.k.a., Fargo.
Sundahl hired as customer service rep
