Letter: West Fargo Water Department draws praise

I recently received exemplary service from an employee of the West Fargo Water Department. I called with a problem over the noon hour and left a message. Ten minutes later I looked out the window and here was a city of West Fargo vehicle in front of my house.

Rick, with the City Water Department, was looking for the curb shut-off valve so I could make a repair inside the house. After he located the valve he asked what the problem was inside. He asked if he could look at it. I figured I was looking at a $300 repair. After checking it out he said it’s not nearly as bad as it looks and advised me how to repair the problem. By the time he left, everything was working fine.

Three days later, the doorbell rings and it’s Rick. He wanted to know if there were any problems and if the repair was holding, (it was).

I’ve always known that the city employees were/are a dedicated bunch, but this level of service is exceptional. Kudos to Rick. We’re lucky to have him working for us.
