Weather Service revises Red River flood forecastFARGO – River flooding from this week’s rainfall won’t be as extensive as first believed, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a downsized crest prediction for the Red River in Fargo.
The Weather Service initially reported the Red River might reach a stage of 22 feet by Saturday.
Now, the crest is expected to reach about 18.5 feet sometime on Friday.
The Red River was at 17.88 feet early Thursday.
Minor flooding occurs in Fargo at a river stage of 18 feet.
