Stern foundation grants awarded to nonprofitsFARGO – The Alex Stern Family Foundation has awarded more than $169,000 in grants to area nonprofit organizations.
The grants include the following organizations. All grants are for general operating support unless otherwise noted:
Arts Partnership, $2,000; Cass County Historical Society, $5,000; Charism, $5,000; Living, Learning and Leading Project; Community of Care, Cass County, $4,000; Daily Bread, $10,000; Backpack Program at Emergency Food Pantry, $1,575, equipment; Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale, $1,000; Fargo-Moorhead Symphony, $10,000; FirstLink, $4,000; Impact Foundation, $30,000; Junior Achievement, $1,000, elementary classroom project; and Lend-A-Hand, $5,000, program sponsor.
Concordia College, Moorhead Technical College Foundation, North Dakota School of Science Foundation and Valley City (N.D.) State University Foundation, $7,500 each for scholarships for students from Cass and Clay counties; Red River Regional Marksmanship Center, $7,500, rifle range construction project; Special Olympics, $5,000, summer games support; TNT Kids Fitness, $25,000, capital campaign; Venture Youth Alliance, $5,000 Youth Compass Mapping Project; YMCA, $10,000, scholarships for Camp Cormorant; and $10,000, YWCA.
