Bismarck woman pleads not guilty to child neglect

BISMARCK — A Bismarck woman accused of watching too many children in her home and neglecting one of them has pleaded not guilty.

Thirty-one-year-old Bonnie Maddock is charged with felony child neglect or abuse and a misdemeanor count of unlawfully providing day care services. She is due back in court Nov. 18.

The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1gHEh8n ) that Maddock was charged after a 4-year-old boy in her care wandered away from her home and was found walking alone at a city intersection. Authorities also determined that Maddock allegedly cared for more than five children at once without a license.

She could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted on the felony charge.
