Man accused of throwing ax through bar window

SANBORN, N.D. - A man was arrested here after he allegedly threw an ax through the front window of the bar.

The Barnes County Sherriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call at Sandoon Saloon about 9:45 p.m. Thursday

Terry Lee Cornell II, 39, of Sanborn, allegedly threw the ax after an altercation in the bar, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff’s deputies went toCornell’s residence but he refused to leave. The James Valley Tactical Team and North Dakota Highway Patrol were called in, and Cornell was taken into custody without incident.

Cornell was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, a Class C felony.

Cornell is on probation out of Cass County, according to the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office. He is a felon with prior charges of aggravated assault, menacing and disorderly conduct.

The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office said two panes of glass were broken and some shards of glass may have damaged furniture in the bar.

No one was injured.
