Moorhead man suspected of passing counterfeit bills

MOORHEAD – A 24-year-old Moorhead man was arrested Monday on gross misdemeanor charges of possessing and distributing counterfeit money, Moorhead police said in a written statement.

The report said the arrest of Justin Samuel Rivett Goldstein stemmed from a report police received Sunday regarding a counterfeit $50 bill and a counterfeit $20 bill that were passed at a Walgreens store.

Store video and subsequent investigation led police to Goldstein, the report said.

Police said it is not known how many phony bills may be in circulation in the area. Anyone who feels they may be in possession of one is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.
