VA to host foster home open house Nov. 7
FARGO – The Fargo Veterans Affairs Health Care System will host a Medical Foster Home information open house from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Carlson Library community room, 2801 32nd Ave. S., for those interested in becoming a caregiver.
The Medical Foster Home project connects veterans who are unable to remain at home because of health issues a home and 24-hour care from caregivers in the community.
The Fargo VA is currently accepting applications from potential caregivers to provide a safe, long-term home-like atmosphere for veterans.
Potential caregivers’ homes must be within a 50-mile radius of the Fargo Medical Center and will be subject to VA inspections.
The VA’s Home Based Primary Care medical staff will make routine visits for home assessment, caregiver education, and patient care.
