Minn. teen gets 3 years for prostituting minorMINNEAPOLIS — A former suburban Minneapolis high school cheerleading captain has been sentenced to three years in prison for prostituting a younger squad member.
Eighteen-year-old Montia Parker was sentenced Friday. She will spend at least two years behind bars before she's eligible for release.
Parker previously pleaded guilty to three prostitution-related counts.
The victim's sister told Hennepin County District Court Judge William Koch that Parker manipulated a girl with a learning disability who trusted her friend.
Parker admitted telling the 16-year-old cheerleader at Hopkins High School that she could earn money through prostitution. After the girl agreed, Parker placed an ad for the girl online, then took her to an apartment where the girl was paid for performing oral sex. The girl gave $60 to Parker, who kept the money.
