Anderson takes lead at LPGA QualifierVENICE, Fla. – Amy Anderson of nearby Oxbow, N.D., continued her hot streak on the golf course Thursday to take the solo lead at the Stage II LPGA Qualifying Tournament.
Anderson, a former North Dakota State All-American, fired a 4-under 68 and moved to 12-under par for the tournament, holding a four-stroke lead heading into Friday's final round.
Anderson, who carded six birdies on the Panther course at Plantation Golf and Country Club, said she is thrilled with how she has played this week.
“Once again, the putts really went in today,” said the 21-year-old Anderson. “Obviously, I’d love another solid round like I’ve had all week. But I just want to finish it off strong.”
The top 80 and ties after Friday's final round will advance to the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, scheduled for Dec. 4-8 at Daytona Beach, Fla. Top finishers in the final stage will earn 2014 LPGA membership with the total number of cards to be determined.
