7 to be charged in drug ring investigationVALLEY CITY, N.D. - The Barnes County State’s Attorney’s Office will file multiple drug charges against seven suspects from Valley City later this week, the result of an investigation by the Stutsman County Narcotics Task Force.
According to information provided by the Valley City Police Department, the task force served five search warrants Sept. 25 for property within the Valley City limits. The search warrants resulted in 17 felony and three misdemeanor charges against seven suspects that will be filed by Barnes County State’s Attorney Lee Grossman and his staff by the end of this week in Southeast District Court.
Various amounts of methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin and prescription medications were seized.
Grossman said he couldn’t release the identities of the suspects, the locations of the properties where the search warrants were executed or the amount of drugs confiscated.
Grossman said the charges stem from several drug busts that are related.
“What we found to tie them all together were each of the bags with drugs in them had similar markings,” Grossman said. “The relationship between all of them (the suspects) is unclear.”
