5 charged in Craigslist robberies in St. PaulST. PAUL — Prosecutors have charged five people in a series of armed robberies in St. Paul targeting buyers responding to fake Craigslist ads advertising cellphones.
No one was hurt in the robberies that took place between June 5 and July 1. But several victims were robbed at gunpoint of cash, cellphones and keys.
Three of those charged in Ramsey County court are brothers — 27-year-old Mark A. Smith of St. Paul, 23-year-old Jonathan D. Smith, whose residence is unknown, and 18-year-old Charles Noel-Deandre Edwards of Maplewood.
Also charged are 21-year-old William Chambers-Erby of Minneapolis and 23-year-old Danielle Anna Mari Brandenburger of St. Paul.
The Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/GFpKft ) reports Brandenburger is Mark Smith's girlfriend and told authorities she drove the three brothers to several locations for the robberies.
Eleven people were robbed.
