VIDEO: Area high school students star in video for YWCA & Allstate Foundation’s Purple Purse Project
This October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, The Allstate Foundation selected the YWCA Cass Clay as one of 30 local YWCAs across the country to be a part of Purple Purse – the Foundation’s national campaign to get people talking about domestic violence.
The YWCA Cass Clay received 10 purple purses to pass along to community members, family and friends to spark conversations that can help survivors break free of violence. Each time a purple purse is passed and checked in at www.PurplePurse.com, the YWCA Cass Clay will earn a $5 donation from The Allstate Foundation.
If the YWCA Cass Clay is able to pass their purses a total of 1,000 times, The Allstate Foundation will double the donation and reward them with a $10,000 grant.
You may remember that the YWCA participating in the exciting and unique Purple Purse campaign in 2012.
Thanks to the enthusiasm and support of the Fargo-Moorhead community, the YWCA Cass Clay was proud to have the most passed purple purse in the country!
Our community passed the purple purse more times than New York, Chicago, Seattle, or Greater Lost Angeles.
The YWCA Cass Clay hopes to have the most passes again this year- with your help!
To kick off the purse passing, we were fortunate enough to have our local high school students represent the community and participate in a campaign video – watch it below to see who has been passing the purple purse and how you can help. (And after you watch the video and enter Purse Code 01161 on PurplePurse.com, be sure to like YWCA Cass Clay on Facebook and Twitter and share with your friends that you passed the Purple Purse!)
