Letter: What a mess was left in parkSeveral weeks ago on a Wednesday morning, a friend and I were walking through Stoneridge Park, which is off of 25th Street South. On the north side of the park, near the soccer net, we saw about four dozen bottles, which were mostly water bottles and some were full of some power drink (and never opened). There was also a pile of plastic tie wraps, a pile of bottle covers two pop cans and an empty cardboard box that held 30 bottles.
On the south side of the soccer field, there were about a dozen bottles, but we could not carry those out.
At first we thought it was perhaps a school function, but in calling the area schools, we found out it was not.
We cannot believe that at least one adult or more would not have been with these children/teens. If there was an adult, he or she set a very poor example for our students.
Whoever did this shows they were not taught to clean up after themselves and to keep our city clean.
