Hires and promotions - 10/05/13Granites Unlimited promotes 1, hires 1
Granites Unlimited, Fargo, has promoted Karen Prost to general manager and Jenne Quarve has been hired in business development/sales.
Prost joined Granites Unlimited in 2009. She has previous sales and leadership experience in the office furniture and staffing industries in Fargo and in the Minneapolis area. She is a native of Grand Forks and she graduated from the University of Minnesota.
Quarve is originally from Moorhead, and she has over 20 years of customer service and sales experience, most recently with Stone Holding, Fargo.
Ten new employees at Discovery Benefits

BSE names marketing services manager
David Held has been promoted to marketing services manager at Border States Electric, Fargo.
He began his career at BSE in 2012 as the digital strategy manager. He has more than 16 years of experience in marketing and strategic planning.
JLG makes Medd Fargo branch manager
Todd Medd, a registered architect and project manager, has been named branch manager of JLG Architects’ Fargo office.
A Grand Forks native, Medd attended North Dakota State University, and he graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a bachelor’s degree. He earned a graduate degree in architecture at the University of Utah. Prior to joining JLG, he worked for HKS where he was promoted to associate and for MJSA Architecture as a designer. With HKS, he worked on such projects as the ARIA Casino and Convention Center at City Center in Las Vegas and with MJSA he was part of the design team that received 15 design awards for the Utah State Capitol restoration.

Fiebiger, Swanson, West & Co., which operates offices in Fargo and Moorhead, has promoted John Reimer to senior manager, Darin Ziemer to manager, Diane Anderson, Christine Club, Cheri Haarstick and Nick Peterson to supervisors and Benjamin Stuber to in-charge.
Reimer has been employed by the company since 2007. He graduated from Minot (N.D.) State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He specializes in financial statement audits and reviews for contractors, businesses and non-profit organizations.
Ziemer has been employed by the company since 2006. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from North Dakota State University and specializes in tax, compilations, reviews and employee benefit plan audits.
Anderson has been employed by the company since 2008. She graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and she specializes in individual tax returns.
Club has been employed with the company since 2009. She graduated from NDSU with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She specializes in auditing non-profits and employee benefit plans.
Haarstick has been employed with the firm since 2007. She graduated from MSUM with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and earned a master of business taxation degree from the University of Minnesota. Haarstick specializes in individual and business income tax preparation, tax planning and tax representation.
Peterson has been employed with the firm since 2009. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music education and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from MSUM. He specializes in financial statement audits and reviews for contractors, businesses and non-profit organizations.
Stuber has been employed at the company since 2010. He graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from NDSU. Stuber specializes in audits and reviews of small businesses and non-profit organizations.
Hospice of RRV names new executive director
Hospice of the Red River Valley has named Kevin Provost as its executive director.
Provost has a master’s degree in business administration and over 20 years of health care leadership experience, most recently as a vice president with Sanford Health. He also served as an administrative director with Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Brainerd, Minn.

Spectrum Marketing Services, Moorhead, has hired Ryan Wixo as a regional sales representative.
Spectrum Marketing Services specializes in custom apparel, promotional and print services.
Arctic Cat names VP of North American sales
Artic Cat has hired Matt Malfitano as vice president of North American sales.
He previously was director of global sales and operations for Fisker Automotive, a luxury hybrid electric vehicle manufacturer. He also served as vice president of sales operations for Maserati/Alfa Romeo North America, senior director of global sales and marketing with aviation start-up company Eclipse Aviation and for Ford’s Volvo division as vice president of sales for the western region.
Malfitano graduated from Lynn University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Otter Tail Corp. hires Rodgers, Stalboerger
Otter Tail Corp. has hired Andy Rodgers as director of operational excellence at Varistar, the diversified businesses of Otter Tail Corp., and Amber Stalboerger as an internal auditor at the corporation. Both are based at the corporate headquarters in Fargo.
Rodgers has an extensive background in manufacturing, supply chain management and continuous improvement having worked at Pella Windows, Landscape Structures and most recently as the advanced sourcing manager with Toro, Bloomington, Minn. He graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Stalboerger is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead, earning a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and is completing her accounting degree. For the past five years, she worked as a rates analyst in the regulatory department of Otter Tail Power Co., Fergus Falls, Minn.
Rehab 4 Life adds Costello to team
Rehab 4 Life Physical Therapy and At Home Therapy Services, Fargo, has added Kelly Costello to its occupational therapy team.
Costello earned a master’s degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. She has experience working with neurological conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.
Nurse practitioners join Essentia neurology
Nurse practitioners Andrea Middlestead and Shannon Roth have joined the neurology department at Essentia Health’s 32nd Avenue Clinic, Fargo.
Middlestead earned a doctor of nursing practice degree from North Dakota State University.
Roth earned a master’s degree as a nurse practitioner from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, Minn. She previously worked at the Fargo VA Health Care System.
First Community Credit Union hires two
First Community Credit Union, Fargo, has hired Ben Watkins and Megean Solberg as member service representatives.
Watkins is originally from LaMoure, N.D., and is a graduate of Jamestown (N.D.) College with degrees in business administration and management information science.
Solberg is originally from West Fargo. She is a graduate of Minnesota State Community and Technical College with an associate’s degree in sales marketing and management and she has worked in the financial industry since 2008.
Three new employees at Cornerstone Bank
Cornerstone Bank in Fargo has hired Barb Hilde and Pam Paseka as mortgage loan processors and Mahira Brgulja as a teller.
Hilde has over 11 years of mortgage loan experience and Paseka has over four years of mortgage loan experience.
Brgulja has over two years of customer service and cash handling experience.
Prairie hires Laver for therapy team
Prairie St. John’s, Fargo, has added Nils-Erik Juanto Laver to its therapy team.
Laver is working on the inpatient units of the hospital and in the Fargo clinic. In addition to psychological evaluations, he provides individual and group therapy.
His special clinical interests include assessment and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, depression, psychological testing and couples therapy.
Laver is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology.
Pollert hired as tech, career developer
Ann Pollert has been hired as a technician and career developer for General Equipment and Supplies. She will be based in the corporate headquarters in Fargo.
Pollert is originally from Devils Lake, N.D., and she was previously the executive director of the North Dakota Community Action Partnership.
Ramada names Jones as assistant GM
Tina Jones has been hired as the assistant general manager at the Ramada Plaza and Suites, Fargo.
She is originally from New London, Minn., and has worked in the hotel industry since 1998 in a variety of positions, including night auditor, housekeeping and cook.
For the past seven years she was the food and beverage director at Days Inn Moorhead/Courtney’s Comedy Club.
Child psychologist joins clinics in Fosston, Ada
Jodi Boerger Wilder, a child psychologist, has joined Essentia Health and will be seeing patients at Essentia’s clinics in Fosston and Ada, Minn.
Wilder earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Fresno.
Before joining Essentia, she cared for children at Northwestern Mental Health Center, Crookston, Minn. In her previous role, she also worked with families from Ada and Fosston.
Eide Bailly hires trainer for governmental team
Eric S. Berman, a nationally recognized authority on governmental accounting and a thought leader on governmental issues, has joined Eide Bailly, a regional certified public accounting and business advisory firm.
Berman has more than 23 years of governmental accounting and auditing experience. His public sector experience includes deputy comptroller for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the chief financial officer of the Massachusetts Water Pollution Abatement Trust. He currently represents the Association of Government Accountants as the vice chairman of the Government Accounting Standards Advisory Council to Governmental Accounting Standards Board and is chairman of AGA’s Financial Management Standards Board.
Berman is a nationally recognized authority on GASB standards. He will continue to consult and write at Eide Bailly and will also provide training for Eide Bailly’s governmental team.
Hawley company hires support manager
Implementation Specialists, Hawley, Minn., has hired Sue Rockwell as support manager.
Rockwell graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in business management. She previously worked 11 years for the city of Hawley.
Fargo Housing names asst. property manager
The Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority has hired Katie Blue as an assistant property manager at the Crossroads, Bluestem and Sunrise locations.
Blue most recently worked for Goldmark Property Management as a leasing specialist.
