System serves up tea in a hurry

FARGO – As summer fades into fall, I look forward to digging out my cozy sweaters and brewing a mug of tea.

My cabinet at work overflows with boxes of different flavors of teabags, but I prefer the loose-leaf varieties now that I have a handy way to steep it.

The Kati brewing system by Tea Forte is a single-serving ceramic mug that comes with a mesh infuser that fits perfectly onto the rim of the cup.

Simply spoon the desired amount of loose leaf tea into stainless steel basket, pour hot water through the mesh and cover with the ceramic lid also included in the set. A minute or two later, you’ve got a freshly brewed tumbler of tea.

Clean-up is just as easy. Just dump infuser, rinse and you’re ready for another mug.

The sets retail for about $12 at specialty and health stores. I bought mine locally at Swanson’s Health Products in downtown Fargo, along with a tin of organic Indian Tulsi green tea.

Bottom line: If you want loose-leaf tea on the run, the Kati brewing system is just what you need.
