Fargo FD responds to small Broadway apartment fireFARGO—The Fargo Fire Department responded to a fire alarm and reports of smoke odor in an apartment at 117½ Broadway at 6:35 a.m Saturday.
While inspecting the building, fire crews found water coming out from under the door of an apartment, according to a statement from the Fargo Fire Department. When they opened the door, they found heavy smoke and a small fire burning in the kitchen.
No one was in the apartment at the time of the fire. The building’s sprinkler system prevented the fire from spreading beyond the trash can where it started, the statement said.
An estimate of the cost of the damage was not immediately available, but the statement said the fire itself did not cause much damage and that the kitchen was wet but not heavily damaged by the water.
