Man charged with fighting officers at ND casino

MINOT, N.D. — A man is facing charges for fighting two tribal officers who unsuccessfully tried to restrain him with a Taser at a Fort Berthold casino.

Twenty-nine-year-old David Stubbs is charged in federal court with assaulting a federal officer.

The altercation happened after officers attempted to escort Stubbs to his room after he had been drinking.

Authorities say Stubbs stumbled into a slot machine and was talking loudly about the ozone layer and how everyone was going to die.

Stubbs allegedly began to swing at the officers, who were unable to physically restrain him or slow him down with a Taser.

Security personnel helped the officers handcuff Stubbs, who continued to resist while being placed in a squad car and struck the back door and window of the vehicle with his head.
