Letter: Time to forget the woodchipperCan we please, please stop tying our city to that stupid woodchipper from “Fargo”? Don’t get me wrong, I grew up in this area and adore the movie, but “Fargo” is 17 years old and the city has grown substantially since then, both literally and culturally. We have a rejuvenated downtown full of successful local entrepreneurs, making the ESPN “College GameDay” location choice a fantastic way to showcase our city, until that ridiculous woodchipper was brought in.
Continuing to take pride in the trivial honor of sharing a name with a movie makes us look like country bumpkins. It’s time to move on.
