Former Bismarck nonprofit head admits embezzling

BISMARCK — The former executive director of the Arc nonprofit in Bismarck has pleaded guilty to embezzling from the organization that provides help for people with disabilities.

Thirty-year-old David Mau was accused of making more than $7,500 in unauthorized purchases with a checkbook and credit cards belonging to the organization. The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1gyMj0z ) that he pleaded guilty Tuesday to forgery or counterfeiting and to one count of theft. Another count was dismissed.

Mau faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced Nov. 21.
