Parking rules kick in downtown for 'GameDay'FARGO – Fans hoping to catch a glimpse of ESPN’s “College GameDay” Saturday in downtown Fargo can leave their vehicles closer to the action later in the day at the Fargodome.
Free shuttles downtown will start at 5:30 a.m. before the 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. broadcast. Return trips back north for the 2:30 p.m. game against Delaware State will run until 2:45 p.m.
Those with game tickets will depart from the east side of Bison Sports Arena on University Drive and 17th Avenue North.
Anyone without tickets can catch a shuttle from the east side of the T Lot between 11th Avenue North and 12th Avenue North.
Parking restrictions began downtown Wednesday night. According to the Fargo Police Department, the following streets will close downtown to make way for the broadcast of the sports network’s weekly college football show:
On Thursday morning:
- Broadway will be closed to traffic between Second Avenue North and Fourth Avenue North.
- Third Avenue North will be closed to traffic between Broadway and Fifth Street North.
- Fifth Street North will be closed to through traffic between Third and Fourth avenues North.
On Thursday night, no parking signs will be posted on Second Avenue North between Broadway and Fifth Street North.
Starting Friday morning, Second Avenue North will closed from the west side of Broadway to Fifth Street North.
Parking will be prohibited starting Friday night on Fourth Avenue North between Roberts Street North and Fifth Street North and on Broadway from Fourth Avenue North to the railroad tracks (Fifth Avenue North).
Saturday morning at 5 a.m., Fourth Avenue North will close from Roberts Street North to Fifth Street North and Broadway will close in the 400 block, from Fourth Avenue North to the railroad tracks.
All roads closed for “GameDay” will remain closed until sometime Saturday afternoon.
