Letter: I should have picked up litterOn my way to work, a young woman in front of me stopped her car on Eighth Street South to pick up some garbage in the middle of the street. I know that it wasn’t hers because I had passed the same garbage earlier in the morning, and now I am embarrassed because I didn’t stop to pick it up.
We all walk over discarded pop cans, fast-food wrappers and other litter but don’t take the few seconds needed to pick it up and throw it away. Let’s all of us take a lesson from this model citizen and pick up someone else’s litter today.
