Some downtown Fargo 90-minute parking times to changeFARGO – The City Commission voted unanimously Monday to change some 90-minute on-street parking spots downtown to two-hour zones.
The zones are on First Avenue South from Fourth Street to Eighth Street, and the city’s parking commission recommended the change.
Planner Joe Nigg said the YMCA pushed for this change, but it’s also part of the parking commission’s main goal of improving downtown parking in the “fringe,” off-Broadway areas.
Nigg said all of downtown’s on-street parking gets only 54 percent utilized during peak hours.
