Majerus, Rindy, Garrett in officials Hall of FameVALLEY CITY, N.D. – Rick Majerus and Duane Rindy of Fargo and Tim Garrett of Mayville are among six who will be inducted into the North Dakota Officials Association Hall of Fame.
Majerus concluded his 24-year career at a high school hockey official in 2010, a career that included 11 state tournaments. Majerus was a member of the National Federation of High Schools hockey rules committee for eight years.
Rindy, a four-sport official during his 35-year career, retired after the 2005 football season. Rindy worked three state championship football games and also officiated basketball, baseball and softball. For the last 20 years, he has served as the officials’ host for the Fargo Metro Tournament Committee.
Garrett ended his 35-year career as a high school basketball official by working his 16th state tournament in 2011. Garrett, who officiated high school football for 31 years, was also a longtime college basketball official in the North Central Conference, the Northern Sun Conference and the old North Dakota Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Others being inducted are: Tom Perius of Langdon, Ron Wright of Williston and Paul Jundt of Bismarck.
