Fargo sets daily rainfall record after Saturday's soakerFARGO – Saturday’s all-day soaker set a daily rainfall record in Fargo with 1.32 inches logged at Fargo’s Hector International Airport.
Saturday’s rains were erratic, with “huge differences across short distances,” said Vince Godon, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Grand Forks.
Godon said one reporting station in Fargo recorded 2.12 inches Saturday, while West Fargo recorded 2.8 inches.
A reporting site about two miles northeast of Moorhead logged 1.85 inches, while Detroit Lakes, Minn., reported 2.5 inches, according to weather service information.
Other rainfall totals collected by the weather service included:
• Sabin, Minn., 1.78 inches
• Glyndon, Minn., 1.37 inches
• Pelican Rapids, Minn., 2.8 inches
• Perham, Minn., 2.3 inches
• Arthur, N.D., 1 inch
• Kathryn, N.D., 3.5 inches.
