Hires and promotions (Sept. 14)Boys & Girls Club hires program director
Mariah Boyle has been hired as program director at the Boys & Girls Club of the Red River Valley, Fargo.
Boyle is originally from Maple Grove, Minn., and graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.
Plains Art Museum hires three directors
The Plains Art Museum in Fargo has hired Laurie Wigtil as development director, Kris Bergquist as education director
and Amy Richardson as communications director.
Wigtil was previously the assistant vice president of development at Minnesota State University Moorhead and has several years of experience in fundraising and public relations. She received a master’s degree in performing arts management from MSUM.
Bergquist was previously the family programs manager at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She also coordinated school and family programs at the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H., and interned at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and at the Art Institute in Chicago. She earned a master’s degree in museum studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas. A Kansas native, Bergquist also worked as an arts and features reporter for the St. Cloud (Minn.) Times.
Richardson formerly worked as a communications consultant and served as director of corporate communications at Noridian Healthcare Solutions, Otter Tail Corp. and Banner Health System. She is a graduate of MSUM with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and an art minor.
Three new employees at Bremer Insurance
Bremer Insurance, Fargo, has hired Mary Vargo as a personal lines insurance account manager, Carla Janecky as a commercial support representative and Matthew Baker as a personal lines account manager.
Vargo has more than 25 years of insurance experience. She previously worked as an insurance agent at First International Bank, Fargo. She has also worked as an account manager at Dawson Insurance and as a personal lines underwriter at Warner and Co., both in Fargo. She attended Mayville (N.D.) State University and the University of North Dakota Lake Region.
Before joining Bremer, Janecky was an agent at Farmers Insurance, Fargo. She has a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and exercise science from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Baker has bachelor’s degrees from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, and MSUM and has more than eight years of sales experience. He worked as a client service associate in 2008 at Bremer Bank, Detroit Lakes, Minn. Before rejoining Bremer, he was the facilities manager at the UND Wellness Center.
Two employees added to ShareHouse staff
ShareHouse, Fargo, has hired Ella Huwe as a licensed social worker and Jeanne Beare as a family nurse practitioner.
Huwe earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Minot (N.D.) State University and has been a licensed social worker for more than 25 years. She most recently worked as a social worker providing case management for children in foster care.
Beare earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a master’s degree in nursing, family nurse practitioner, from the University of Mary, Bismarck. She most recently worked at Planned Parenthood.

Western State Bank hires loan processors
Western State Bank, West Fargo, has hired Kate Kringlie, Kelly Engstrom and Sereena Fisher as mortgage loan processors, and Laura Zito, Kari Thiele and Rachel Wagar as assistant mortgage loan processors.
Kringlie has more than 10 years of banking experience, primarily in retail and mortgage banking. She worked for the past four years as a mortgage loan processor at Cornerstone Bank.
Engstrom has more than six years of banking experience. She previously worked for three years as a mortgage loan processor at Cornerstone Bank.
Fisher has previous experience working as a legal assistant, Realtor and mortgage loan processor.
Zito has more than five years of banking and customer service experience. She previously worked as a loan servicing specialist at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and as a customer service representative at Cornerstone Bank.
Thiele previously worked as an assistant mortgage loan processor and has 10 years of customer service experience.
Wagar has four years of banking experience. She studied abroad this summer in Europe through the North Dakota State University College of Business and she will graduate in May from NDSU.
Dunham accepts baker position at Fraser Ltd.
Peggy Dunham has accepted the position of baker with Fraser Ltd., Fargo.
Dunham earned a culinary arts diploma from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead. She previously worked as a baker for Central Market, Detroit Lakes, Minn., and most recently was the food service coordinator for MSCTC, Moorhead.
Wanzek Construction promotes 2 employees
Wanzek Construction, Fargo, has promoted Rush Waite to executive vice president and Arnold Jelinek to vice president.
Waite was previously senior vice president and has been with Wanzek for 20 years.
He has experience managing power, renewable energy, oil and gas, heavy/civil and industrial agriculture projects. Waite has a bachelor’s degree in construction management from North Dakota State University.
Jelinek has been with Wanzek for seven years and has held positions in business development, engineering and construction management, commercial, industrial and residential site developments. Most recently he was managing director. He is a graduate of NDSU with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

Dakota Certified adds three to staff
Dakota Certified Development Corp., Fargo, has hired Carrie Iverson as the executive administrative assistant, Becky Todd as business development officer and Carissa Ensrude as a loan servicing specialist.
Iverson worked for 13 years at PRACS Institute/Cetero Research in various capacities and most recently was senior clinical research coordinator. She has an associate degree in business administration and is completing a bachelor’s program in business administration.
Todd has a bachelor’s degree in economics from North Dakota State University and has more than 15 years of experience in customer service and sales, including eight years in the banking industry.
Ensrude is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a degree in business administration and was most recently with Bell State Bank & Trust. She has more than eight years of experience in loan servicing and support, implementation of policies and procedures and quality control.
Child, Family Therapy Associates adds staff
Child and Family Therapy Associates in Fargo has added psychology resident Kirsten Williams and social worker Julie Steiner to its staff.
Williams specializes in working with children, adolescents and adults with a history of trauma or abuse, anxiety and ADHD. She completed an internship at Prairie View near Wichita, Kan., and earned a doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.
Steiner specializes in treating children, adolescents and adults with infertility/adoption-related issues, anxiety, depression, grief/loss and a history of trauma and abuse. She also works with couples and families.
She has 13 years of clinical experience and earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul.
Johnson appointed CEO of PioneerCare board
The PioneerCare corporate board of directors, Fergus Falls, Minn., has appointed Nathan Johnson as administrator and chief executive officer.
Johnson has served in the interim administrator role at PioneerCare since March. He joined PioneerCare in 2008 and previously was the administrator at the Good Samaritan Society, Barnesville, Minn.
He completed an internship in health care administration at Good Samaritan, Battle Lake, Minn., and earned a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Concordia College. He completed a master’s degree in health care administration in August.
Onsharp adds Unser as marketing strategist
Onsharp has added Mike Unser as a digital marketing strategist.
Unser has more than 12 years of experience working in digital marketing, in-cluding website design, mobile web, email marketing and more.

Riffey named business relationship manager
Travis Riffey has joined Wells Fargo’s business banking team in Fargo as a senior business relationship manager at Wells Fargo’s branch at 406 Main Ave.
Riffey has more than 12 years of financial services experience. He joined Wells Fargo in 2002 as a specialist for Wells Fargo Banker Connection in Fargo. He then completed financial analyst and credit management training programs for Wells Fargo’s Commercial Banking office before being named a commercial relationship manager for Wells Fargo in Milwaukee. Most recently, he was an assistant vice president for commercial banking at U.S. Bank in Milwaukee.
Riffey, a Bismarck native, has a bachelor’s degree in financial management, economics and banking from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Mary, Fargo.

Michael Schmidt, Glyndon, Minn., has been hired as an agent with the North Dakota general office of New York Life Insurance Co., Fargo.
Village hires three for truancy program
Heidi Wavra, Erica Row and Amber Brandenburg have been hired as family advocates with the Truancy Intervention Program, which includes all public K-12 schools in Moorhead and Clay County.
Row graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in human development and family science and from Minot (N.D.) State University with a degree in social work. She completed an internship at the Southeast Human Service Center.
Wavra earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from NDSU. She previously worked as a juvenile counselor at the West Central Regional Juvenile Center and Prairie St. John’s as a nursing psychiatric technician.
Brandenburg earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Rasmussen College. She previously worked at Bell State Bank and interned at the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center in Fargo.
Bank of the West promotes Nancy Frost

Carlson named VP of mortgage banking
Rob Carlson has joined Cornerstone Bank in Fargo as vice president of mortgage banking.
Carlson has more than 13 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 12 years in mortgage. His most recent positions include area sales manager of U.S. Bank Home Mortgage for North Dakota and he was a home mortgage consultant with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Fargo.
Hospice of the RRV expands medical team
Hospice of the Red River Valley in Fargo has added Dr. Lisa Henry to its medical team.
Henry earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, and a medical degree from the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is board certified in internal medicine.
She was previously a medical director with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota and was associate chief of medicine with the Fargo VA Health Care System.
Westbrock, Johnson join jewelry sales staff
Erica Westbrock and Sandy Johnson have joined the sales staff at A Cutting Edge – Gallery of Jewelry, Fargo.
Westbrock has seven years of jewelry sales experience and was previously employed at Kay Jewelers.
Johnson retired from Hornbacher’s after 37 years as a general merchandise manager.
Catholic Charities hires director of counseling
Catholic Charities North Dakota, Fargo, has hired of Catherine Johnson as the agency’s director of counseling services.
Johnson earned a master‘s degree in counseling and guidance from North Dakota State University. She recently worked at the Southeast Human Service Center as a therapist and also had prior experience working with adolescents and adults with mental health issues.
Ramada Plaza hires Jones, promotes two
The Ramada Plaza and Suites and Conference Center in Fargo has hired Monte Jones as general manager of the hotel’s Basie’s restaurant. The Ramada has promoted Samuel Pulkrabek to front office manager and Kaley Klein to reservations manager.
Jones is originally from Moorhead and moved to New York following college to pursue a dance career. His interests then turned to hospitality and he managed three restaurants in New York. After returning to the Fargo-Moorhead area, he opened Monte’s Restaurant in 2003 in downtown Fargo and then was an owner/operator of the new Silver Moon in Fargo. Most recently he was a restaurant manager at The Radisson in Fargo.
Pulkrabek is originally from West Fargo and graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management. He worked for Abercrombie and Fitch and in customer service at Bremer Bank before joining the Ramada, where he was a guest service representative, front desk supervisor and reservations manager.
Klein is from Fargo and graduated from NDSU with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management. She began her employment at Ramada as a guest service representative and has also held positions as front desk supervisor and manager on duty.
Corporate Technologies hires 4 new employees
Corporate Technologies in Fargo has hired Cody Dahl and Tim Mackowick as network engineers and Don Pich and Wayne Casebeer as systems engineers.
Dahl graduated from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Wadena, with a degree in telecommunications-information systems. He has worked in the telecommunications industry for seven years, most recently for Red River Telephone, Abercrombie, N.D.
Mackowick attended DeVry University, Chicago, and was previously the team lead at Caterpillar and systems manager at Westell, both in Aurora, Ill., and a field service engineer at GE Capital Computer Rental Services, Chicago.
Pich, a graduate of the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a degree in industrial technology, was previously employed at Polar Communications for 16 years where he was a network specialist.
Casebeer graduated from the Marine Corps Communications Electronics School, Twentynine Palms, Calif., as a data network specialist. He was transferred to field artillery 2nd battalion, 10th marine regiment as a sergeant for the remainder of his five years in the military.
Richmond promoted to GM at Valley Imports
Jeff Richmond has been promoted to general manager of Valley Imports, Fargo.
Originally from Aberdeen S.D., Richmond attended the University of Nebraska and Northern State University, where he studied English, secondary education and physical education.
He has worked for Wallwork and Valley Imports since 1996 and was previously the general sales manager at Valley Imports.

American Crystal Sugar Co. has hired Gary Sundeen as an electrical and instrumentation supervisor at the company‘s Crookston, Minn., facility, Shannon Agotness as a power generation supervisor in the East Grand Forks, Minn., factory, and Tara Kostrzewski as a utility clerk at the facility in Drayton, N.D.
