Fargo police: Beware of unlicensed magazine solicitorsFARGO - Fargo police are warning residents about unlicensed door-to-door magazine solicitors.
The company does not have a transient merchant license filed with the North Dakota State Attorney General’s Office, the police said.
The company, Interstate Subscription Service, based out of San Antonio, Texas, has been reported to be actively selling magazine subscriptions without the proper licensure, police said.
Fargo residents have reported to police the company is utilizing various tactics to be let into the home, such as asking residents to sign petitions, help various charities and aid in the magazine seller’s chances of gaining a vacation trip oversees.
Selling products in this manner is a B misdemeanor criminal offense in North Dakota.
