Explicit Snapchat photo leads to fight between two 15-year-old Fargo boysFARGO – A 15-year-old boy was beat up last month as he confronted a fellow 15-year-old boy who sent an explicit photo to his 13-year-old sister, police say in court documents.
Police executed a search warrant on the 13-year-old’s cellphone last week, saying in the affidavit that the older brother took a baseball bat to the meeting with the boy who sent the girl a Snapchat picture of his genitals.
According to the search warrant filed Monday in Cass County District Court, officers responded to an assault report at the Kum & Go on 2237 13th Ave. S. on Aug. 10.
They found the 15-year-old brother there with “a significant amount” of blood on the left side of his face coming from a cut on his eyebrow, with dried blood around his nose and down his face.
He told officers the other 15-year-old had punched him in the face three times. His parents took him to Sanford Health to treat his injuries.
Police say in court filings that the older brother saw the photo the boy shared with his sister, then sent a Snapchat message to the 15-year-old telling him to meet him at the Kum & Go to talk about the situation.
Both siblings went to the Kum & Go, where the other boy was there with three other males. The girl said that the other boy punched her brother multiple times, then kicked him twice after he fell down.
Officers interviewed the other boy, who told them he and the 13-year-old had been exchanging nude photos over Snapchat.
The 15-year-old who was bloodied said after the boy took a swing at him, he punched him twice in the face and once as he fell to the ground.
The girl denied sending nude photos to the other boy.
It’s unclear if the incident resulted in charges, as most juvenile cases aren’t public.
